IHU GradCon 2024 Hosted 128 Papers in 23 Sessions
As an interdisciplinary platform for imaginative research, the 7th Graduate Studies Conference brought together many researchers.

The 7th Graduate Studies Conference (IHU GradCon 2024) took place on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Held in a hybrid format at the Media and Events Centre and via Zoom, it created an interdisciplinary platform for graduate students to share their academic studies.

The opening program of the conference, which was held at the Media and Events Centre Event Hall, began with welcoming speeches by Ibn Haldun University Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Director of the School of Graduate Studies Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakçı and Director of the Alliance of Civilizations Institute Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Işık. In the opening seminar of IHU GradCon 2024, Prof. Dr. Alparslan Açıkgenç, a Department of Philosophy faculty member, met with graduate students. In his seminar entitled 'Scientific Process as a Dynamic Element in the Civilizational Process', Açıkgenç evaluated the place of knowledge and science in the development processes of civilisations. 

The papers accepted by the IHU GradCon 2024 Scientific Committee for the 7th Graduate Studies Conference and the presenters met in online sessions. Students continuing their graduate studies at different universities presented 128 papers in 23 sessions. Graduate and postgraduate students from various disciplines such as Religion and Thought, Education and Psychology, Communication, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science and International Relations, History and Civilisation, and Air Transport Management had the opportunity to answer the questions posed to them after their presentations, which were chaired by leading academics.

Among the 128 papers presented at the conference, Blama Keita's paper entitled 'Geopolitics of Non-Integration: Rethinking the Re-rise of Military Populism in Francophone West Africa', Tabish Nawab with his paper titled 'Multidimensional poverty index across districts in Punjab, Pakistan: estimation and rationale to consolidate with SDGs' and Lassana V. Donzo with his paper titled 'Remaking Touba: An Ethnography of the Everyday Lives of Mourides in Istanbul'. The winning graduate students received a cash prize of 5000 TL. The IHU GradCon 2024 Organising Committee announced that in addition to the prize, the winners will receive 4000 TL for publishing their research as an article in a journal, provided that the email address used has an IHU extension.
