An orientation program was held on the 2023-2024 Academic Year Opening at Ibn Haldun University School of Graduate Studies, which has a total of 48 programs, including nine doctorates, 23 master's degrees with a thesis, and 16 master's degrees without a thesis. In addition to the new students who started graduate education at the university, current students, teaching assistants, and research assistants also participated in the orientation. On Tuesday, October 3, the orientation program was held at the Student Center Event Hall and was attended by the heads of departments and faculty members of graduate programs.
Speaking at the program, Ibn Haldun University Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan emphasized the importance of research projects that graduate students can carry out with their advisors while continuing their education. Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan noted that students can be the driving force in the production of joint projects by sharing the project proposals they will develop with the faculty members in their departments.
In his speech, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies Assoc. Prof. Ali Osman Kuşakcı stated that they are proud to serve to fulfill Ibn Haldun University's mission of "raising researchers who are open to all sources of knowledge and prioritize contribution to humanity." Kuşakcı told the students that they will advance their academic and sectoral careers in a research-oriented university, and because of this experience, a significant number of Ibn Haldun University Graduate School graduates continue their careers in globally recognized institutions.
In the orientation program, Halit Topçu from the School of Graduate Studies gave a presentation on the educational processes and Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Çalışır, Faculty Member of the Department of History, shared important information about the Teaching Fellow and Research Fellow positions in which graduate students work.
Students and faculty members had a pleasant time with the Kahoot competition organized at the end of the program. The competition winner, Murtala Mustapha Baba from the Business Administration Doctorate Program, received a gift certificate of 3,000 TL from Ibn Haldun University Publications. Nurettin Topal from the Master’s Program with a Thesis in Religious Studies and Khadim Mbacke from the Master's Program with a Thesis in Islamic Sciences won gift vouchers worth 2,000 TL and 1,000 TL from Ibn Haldun University Publications.
