Program Hakkında:

İbn Haldun Üniversitesi Tarih Doktora Programı mezunu;

  • Lisansta ve lisansüstünde, İslâm Tarihi ve Modern Ortadoğu Tarihi dersleri verebilir. Bu alanlarda tez yönetmesi, özel hazırlığı ve uzmanlığına bağlıdır.
  • Tarihsel sosyolojiye önem verir. Sadece “geçmişte ne oldu” sorusuna değil, “toplumlar nasıl işler” sorusuna da cevap arayan bir formasyonu vardır. Bu temelde, tarihte tarım toplumları, kentler, kır-kent ilişkileri, farklı coğrafyalardaki kültür ve medeniyet daireleri, devletler ve imparatorluklar konusunda birleştirici ve karşılaştırmalı bir perspektife sahiptir.
  • Yurtdışında iş bulduğu takdirde, dahil olacağı bölümde Osmanlı tarihi ile Osmanlı-dışı tarihler arasında bağlantı kurabilir; temel kavramları ve terimlerini birbirine tercüme edebilir; dolayısıyla Osmanlı tarihini kapalı kutu olmaktan çıkarıp başka alanların uzmanlarına açabilir. Kendi açısından, dünya tarihi sorunlarına ilgi gösterir; bu alandaki gelişme ve tartışmalardan haberdardır ve mensup olduğu bölümün entellektüel yaşantısına bu açıdan katkıda bulunabilir.
  • Lisans veya lisansüstü seviyesindeki Dünya Tarihi derslerinin organizasyonuna katılıp, Türklerin Tarihi, İslâm Tarihi, Osmanlı Tarihi, Modern Türkiye Tarihi,  Modern Ortadoğu Tarihi konularındaki modüllerin sorumluluğunu üstlenebilir.
  • Hem yoğun hem çok-kültürlü bir öğrenim ortamından geçmiştir. Bu açılardan herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşamaksızın, yurt dışı akademik ortamlara kültürel açıdan da, çalışma temposu açısından da intibak edebilir.
  • Çok kuvvetli bir araştırma dürtüsü ve donanımı edinmiştir. Bilim ve bilgi tutkunudur. Sürekli çalışır ve daha fazlasını merak eder. Azla yetinmez; kurcalayıcı ve tüketicidir; her bir konunun olabilecek en ücra köşelerine uzanmaya çalışır. Alanının en iyi dergilerinde, İngilizce ve Türkçe yayın yapar. Bir kitap veya makale projesinden diğerine geçer. Çok-uluslu ekip ve çok-ciltli yayın projelerinde rahatlıkla yer alır.
