Nilab Saeedi, our History PhD student, prepared her thesis titled “Muṣliḥ Al-Dīn Lārī (D. 979 /1572) An Intellectual of Three Empires” under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Mehmet Şakir Yılmaz. Nilab Saeedi became the first graduate of our History PhD program and was awarded the 2024-2025 Doctoral Dissertation of the Year Award with her dissertation titled “Muṣliḥ Al-Dīn Lārī (D. 979 / 1572) An Intellectual of Three Empires”.
In her dissertation, she analyzed the intellectual legacy of Muslihuddīn Lārī (d. 1572), especially his work Mir'atu'l-Adwār wa Mirḳāt al-Ahbār (The Mirror of the Ages and the Step of Historiographical News), from a historiographical perspective and critically evaluated the author's educational background, worldview, and intellectual vision. Dr. Saeedi's work will be published as a book titled “Three Empires and Persian Historiography The Thought of Muṣliḥ al-dīn Lārī” by Routledge in November 2025.
