Short Biography
Taha Burak Toprak is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a Psychotherapist. He studied Sociology and Psychology at Istanbul University for their undergraduate education and completed the Sociology Master's Program at the same university as a TUBITAK Domestic Master's Scholarship recipient. Subsequently, he completed the Clinical Psychology Master's Program at Okan University and the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Hasan Kalyoncu University in 2022.
Between 2010 and 2019, he worked as a clinical psychologist-psychotherapist at the Psychology Unit of the Department of Mental Health and Diseases at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. From 2018 to 2023, he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Hasan Kalyoncu University, Sabahattin Zaim University, and Ibn Haldun University in the Psychology departments. Currently, he works as a faculty member at Ibn Haldun University in the Psychology department, serving as the Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Vice Chair of the Psychology Department.
In the field of psychotherapy, he have received training in Psychoanalysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Family Therapy, and Group Therapy both domestically and internationally. He is certified as a Cognitive Therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT) and is a member of the European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) and a certified Cognitive Therapist.
Dr. Toprak continue his studies on the philosophical foundations of psychology and psychotherapy, as well as the relationship between the theoretical and practical sources of Islamic thought tradition and modern psychology and psychotherapy. In 2020, he assumed the role of founding president in the Psychology and Psychotherapy Research Association he established with their colleagues.
He is married and a father of one child.
